Finding the Perfect Carving Pumpkin:
Orchards and farms are abundant in the High Country during this time. From finding the perfect carving pumpkin, to additional fall activities around the area, local farms are the best place to be! Visit here for some places that we will definitely be putting on our list.
This annual festival, usually held at the Blowing Rock Parks & Recreation grounds, is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Activities often include games, hayrides, and even a “creepy” craft show. The highlight of the festival is the Monster March, where kids and adults alike don their favorite costumes and march through the streets of downtown Blowing Rock.

A stone’s throw away from Blowing Rock, in nearby Boone, the Tweetsie Railroad transforms into a haunted attraction during the Halloween season. This family-friendly event features the famous Ghost Train ride, haunted houses, and spooky shows. The park is beautifully decorated with Halloween-themed ornaments, making it a visual treat.

Boone, located close to Blowing Rock, hosts an annual downtown trick-or-treat event, ‘Boone Boo’. Local businesses and shops participate by handing out treats to the children, making it a safe and fun environment for families to enjoy the Halloween spirit.
